The challenge
Tunnel ventilation is a life-safety system: every fan, damper and sensor across the central section had to be proven individually and then exercised together under full emergency scenarios before passenger service could begin. Our commissioning teams worked around the clock in the final year of the programme.
The outcome
The system entered service with full safety-case approval, and our engineers continue to support TfL with planned maintenance windows across the fourteen shaft sites.
